This exhaust valve is to be placed on your exhaust line.
 
The principle is simple: using the interuptor, open the valve that releases the line.
This way you decide to reduce or increase the flow of gas, and therefore the noise.
 
This principle would have a more liberated exhaust line by simply pressing a button, but without the constraint of a muted eg to limit noise.
